MIAMI (WSVN) - A Miami-Dade Police Lieutenant found a kitten in the grille of his unmarked police car, Monday morning.

The officer said he heard the kitten’s cries when he went out to his car in the morning. He drove his car to MDPD Fleet Management’s Internal Services Department, where a technician removed the black kitten.

The kitten, renamed Pikachu, was fed and given water by officers at the department’s headquarters.

She was taken to Miami-Dade Animal Services Pet Adoption and Protection Center, where she will be put up for adoption.
