CLEARWATER, Fla (AP) — Coast Guard officials have rescued four boaters by helicopter after their boat capsized in southwest Florida.
Officials a man called 911 early Saturday morning, saying his 29-foot boat was taking on water about 12 miles west of Johns Pass. Officials lost communication with the man and his three other passengers, including an 8-year-old girl.

The Coast Guard sent a boat and a helicopter to search for the party, finding them about an hour after the distress call. They were clinging to their capsized hull. All four were wearing their lifejackets. They were flown to Air Station Clearwater where they were cleared by medical officials.
