LAUDERHILL, FLA. (WSVN) - Passing storms in Broward County have left behind fallen trees and a trail of damage.

A tree branch broke off along Northwest 86th Terrace and 46th Court in Lauderhill, blocking off most of the sidewalk.

That branch not only blocked pedestrians but also took out a nearby fence during the storm.

“The wind was atrocious, I’d never seen so much rain,” said a resident who lives nearby. “The rain was coming just like a hurricane, basically like a hurricane, just milder. The winds weren’t quite so bad. It was bad. It was really bad.”

An electrical hazard also occurred in Plantation after a large tree fell, taking down power lines.

The downed wires covered three-fourths of the road along Northwest 28th Court and 118th Block.

FPL has since cleared that area.
