PLANTATION, FLA. (WSVN) - Students at American Heritage School collected food to help families in need, Tuesday, just in time for Thanksgiving.

Students in each grade collected food to distribute to The Pantry of Broward.

“It’s really good to help our community and have a good time,” Jessi Kaplan, a student, said.

The organization will pass out the food to seniors with low incomes and grandparents raising children in Broward County.

“They filled up the school bus that you see behind us with all of the food,” said Maureen Luna, the CEO of Pantry of Broward. “They come and formed an amazing assembly line bringing all the food inside, so we can get it to our clients in time for Thanksgiving.”
