FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - A man who was shot in the arm by a Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy, Wednesday, faced a judge, Thursday, on charges that he hit the officer with his car.

Michael Mainolfi was arraigned on numerous charges, including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at more than $160,000.

Police said an officer shot Mainolfi in the arm after the 51-year-old drove into him while trying to avoid arrest in Fort Lauderdale.

Mainolfi and the officer are expected to be OK.
