MIAMI (WSVN) - The responsibilities and challenges faced by journalists working in social media platforms took center stage at the Miami-Dade Public Schools’ bi-annual social media journalism forum, Tuesday morning.
More than 160 students from high schools throughout the district engaged with expert panelists at the event moderated by M-DCPS’ Chief Communications Officer Daisy Gonzalez Diego.
Today in Florida weekend anchor and 7News reporter Omar Lewis was one of five local media experts who participated in the interactive discussion about responsible journalism in an era of instant communication.
Miami-Dade Public Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho also spoke to the students about moral and ethical practices in this growing field.
