MIAMI (WSVN) - October is the month of Halloween, so we took a look at the most popular costumes for this year’s holiday.
“You gotta come early, ’cause if not, then you already know that all the costumes are gonna be gone,” said costume shopper Mike Johnson.
La Casa De Los Trucos in Little Havana holds some of the most popular costumes this year. “We have over 15,000 styles of costumes, we have over 100,000 accessories,” said Jorge Torres, of La Casa de Los Trucos.
Torres said well-liked costumes include Pokemon outfits and characters from movies. “Pokemon is a costume, because of Pokemon Go, that men and women and girls and boys want to dress up as Pokemon,” said Torres.
Torres said for boys, sought-after options include Captain America, Black Panther, Lego characters, and Mario and Luigi costumes.
He also mentioned Harley Quinn costumes as a popular option for girls and women due to “Suicide Squad.”
Other common female costumes include Katana, also from “Suicide Squad,” and female Deadpool costumes.
Male Deadpool outfits are also high in demand, along with “Suicide Squad”- style Joker costumes.
Political masks for Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are also a common item.
Costumes for pets are also flying off shelves. “Usually, if the owner wears something, they want to match with the pet, so you bring in the pe,t and you have them dress up,” Torres said.
Inflatable costumes are another option for trick-or-treaters.
