ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — More than 600,000 travelers are expected to pass through Orlando International Airport this Memorial Day weekend.
Airport officials said the number of travelers at the airport from Friday to Tuesday will mark a 12 percent increase over last year.
Airport officials are taking some steps to try to make travel go smoothly at the airport.
Some 27 new customer service representatives have been hired to help travelers right before they go through the security-screening process.
Airport officials also are encouraging Transportation Security Administration workers to use dogs at the screening checkpoints, which can speed up the screening process.
Airport officials also recommend that travelers on domestic flights get to the airport two hours ahead of their departure, and they say international travelers should arrive three hours ahead.
