CORAL GABLES, FLA. (WSVN) - Miracle Mile in Coral Gables is a relatively peaceful street filled with restaurants and bars, but for three women, this street became the scene of a nightmare.

According to the Coral Gables Police Department, two armed men robbed three women at gunpoint after a fun night in the Gables, in late June.

“They handed over their purses and cellphones to the subjects and were told to keep walking as the subjects fled in the opposite direction,” said Coral Gables Police officer Kelly Denham.

The women had just left Fritz & Franz Bierhaus, a popular bar and restaurant, at around 11 p.m., located only one block north of Miracle Mile.

Police are concerned because they believe these two men could strike again. “It’s to try to stop them from doing this again,” said Denham, “because when they’re successful once, there’s a possibility they could strike again.”

Residents who live and work in the area are concerned. “That is kind of scary,” said Shayla Gonzalez, who works in the area. “Because Coral Gables is so safe, you know? Especially for business because there’s so many restaurants here and bars, and it’s always safe.”

“It’s always safe, nice and quiet,” said another local. “This place is always very nice and quiet, and we always have police walking around. It surprises me.”

Coral Gables Police have released sketches of the two suspects, who are described as white Hispanic men between the ages of 24 to 26 years old and ages 22 to 26 years old.

If you have any information on this armed robbery, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
