DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) — Coffee, cops and Deerfield Beach residents came together, Wednesday morning.

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies took time to decompress at Dandee Donuts, a local coffee shop near Southeast 13th Court. For two hours, customers had the chance to chat with officials.

Officers discussed a wide range of topics at the event, ranging from sports to community issues.

BSO Capt. Robert Schnakenberg said, "This gives them an opportunity to ask us every question that they want to ask us, and it’s not in front of another crowd. It’s informal, it’s personal — so that we can get down to the nitty gritty of the issues that we want to address."

This is part of the "Coffee With A Cop" campaign, a nationwide event that gives law enforcement agencies the chance to connect with the communities they serve.
