Florida is known for it’s hot summer sun. Makeover maestro Martin Amado is bringing that sunshine inside to lighten up a dark living room.
WSVN — Martin Amado: “Hey guys, when you see me pulling up to a house and my car looks like this, you know a makeover is about to take place. Let’s go check out the space.”
Martin Amado: “We actually have some nice furniture to work with. The problem is it’s quite dark and the accent pieces like the florals kind of clash with the style. So, my job is to bring it all together and lighten things up through the accessories.”
Martin Amado: “First up, let’s get rid of all these flowers. They just don’t work.”
Martin Amado: “I’m not a fan of huge sectionals because they limit the space. However, this one is modular which means we can configure it many different styles, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.”
Martin Amado: “Now we’re adding all the layers the room needs, beginning with the area rug.”
Martin Amado: “Artwork is up. Now, let’s bring in lighting and some decorative pillows.”
Martin Amado: “I love this moment. The cream end table against the dark leather sofa.”
Martin Amado: “The finishing touch, a beautiful decorator tray on top of the ottoman coffee table and we’re done.”
Martin Amado: So, before everything was quite dark and some of the accent pieces kind of clashed with the overall look. Now, with a new furniture layout and decorative accessories the room has a defined since of style and it all happened in one day. Until next time, I’m Martin Amado for 7News.”
