Adding to a week already filled with courtroom tactics that drew controversy, the defense attorney for George Zimmerman had to answer for a photo one of his daughters posted on her Instagram account.
Molly West, the daughter of veteran criminal attorney Don West, is shown in the the picture posing with her father and one of her sisters holding large ice cream cones. The caption under the photograph read, “We beat stupidity celebration cones,” adding the hashtags “#zimmerman,” “#defense,” and #dadkilledit.”
The picture appears to have been taken Tuesday night. It is not clear what Molly meant by her caption.
The defense attorney raised eyebrows on Monday when he used a knock-knock joke in opening statements.
Don West issued a statement that reads, “Sometimes we’re deeply disappointed by the things our children do, but we love them anyway, and we move on.”
