WSVN — Martin Amado: “If your closet is busting at the seams, and you’ve dreamed of having a beautiful dressing room like a Hollywood celebrity, well, on today’s Room for Improvement, I’m going to show you how to turn that dream into a reality.”

Martin Amado: “Before, this bedroom was a catch all room. It was used mainly for storage and it had no other function. Well, this bedroom will now become a spacious walk-in closet for the homeowner. New wood floors, paint and trim prepare the bedroom for the transformation.”

Martin Amado: “Here’s a rendering of how it’s going to look. We’re going to have custom built ins all around the room for clothes and then the original closet space will be used for shoes and other items. Let’s make it happen.”

Martin Amado: “Instead of a standard white closet organizing system, I chose this beautiful zebra wood finish. As you can see the cabinets are completely exposed, so they become a part of the room’s decor. It’s all about details.”

Martin Amado: “All right, so the cabinets look amazing, and we have everything we might need including a built-in hamper for all of the dirty clothes and of course a dresser over here. All that’s missing are the the clothes.”

Martin Amado: “Remember, every detail counts. So, you can switch out your wire hangers from the dry cleaners for these beautiful velvet ones.”

Martin Amado: “This rug is the perfect size.”

Martin Amado: “Fabric bins are the perfect way to keep these open shelves organized for you too. They come in many different sizes and styles, as well.”

Martin Amado: “A comfy ottoman that helps you get dressed in the morning, you can put on your shoes, and it just looks great in the room.”

Martin Amado: “You know how all the retail stores keep all of their clothes perfectly folded and displayed? Well, this is the secret. One, two and three, and there you go. Just like a professional.”

Martin Amado: “What a transformation! We took advantage of every wall by going vertical to maximize the storage space and the custom cabinets in zebra wood also make a stylish statement.”

Martin Amado: “What was once an unused bedroom is now a completely functional dressing room that’s beautiful to look at at the same time. The best of both worlds. You can do this as well. Until next time, I’m Martin Amado for 7News.”
