WILTON MANORS, Fla. (WSVN) — A former employee of a Wilton Manors animal hospital and her boyfriend were charged with burglary and grand theft for stealing pet medications from the hospital.
According to reports, Paige Johnson had worked at the Arbor Animal Hospital for about three years before resigning in May due to a dispute with management.
Officials said, she then had a key of the business duplicated and entered the business during its off hours on six separate occasions. She stole over $40,000 in pet medications and began selling them on Craig’s List.
An undercover detective who is assigned to the Broward County Drug Task Force had purchased some of the stolen animal medications from Johnson’s boyfriend, Casey Horton, on two occasions, and the two were eventually arrested, after a month long investigation.
