?If your child has always wanted to run away and join the circus … a rare opportunity has come to town. 7’s Lynn Martinez shows us in today’s Parent To Parent.?

WSVN — From spinning plates to hoola hoops to tumbling and juggling this circus isn’t just about clowning around.

Neil Goldberg, Founder of Cirque Dreams: “We are a circus of endless possibilities.”

Goldberg is the creator of Cirque Dreams, a series of spectacular shows seen around the world, based right here in Pompano Beach. Goldberg wanted to share the magic with the local community, so he’s starting Cirque Dreams Kids Time.

Neil Goldberg: “Which is an intense, immersive workshop of master classes for young people to explore their imagination.”

This two-day camp is a chance for kids to tap into their creative side.

Neil Goldberg: “How to take some of their ideas and funny faces and their body movements and their coordination and their education and create something special and unique.”

Under some of the world’s top performers, kids will learn the basic skills of stage presence, theatricality, movement and balancing.

Jasmine learned balancing isn’t as easy as it looks.

Jasmine Sullivan, 10 years old: “From your waist up, you have to stay still, and from your waist down you have to keep moving.”

Hadrian Schrag, 10 years old: “I did tumbling acrobatics. I did juggling with balls.

This parent was amazed by the performers and how the kids jumped right in for the challenge.

Kristine Sullivan, parent: “This was very athletic for them, and it was really testing all their skills.”

Kids also learn all the work it takes backstage to make a show come alive.

Neil Goldberg: “A costume like this could take four months … Every cirque dream show we do has a different theme.”

And Goldberg hopes to make even more dreams come true.

Some lucky campers will be chosen to perform in the Broadway hit “Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy” at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

Neil Goldberg: “Everyone wants to have this special moment where they can shine and sparkle.”

Kids of all skill levels are invited to sign up. The deadline is June 1.
