Put a cork in the same old wine tastings that offer your basics like Chardonnay or Merlot in tonight’s Style File. 7’s Belkys Nerey pours us a glass of something new.

WSVN — Like an aged wine, 79th Street Causeway in Miami is slowly developing into a tasty dining and drinking destination.

Liza Meli: “When I was looking to open my location, my eyes were on 79th Causeway Street. I did not want to go anywhere else. I love it, I think it’s growing.

The new Barmeli is a cozy bar meant for sharing wine and tapas. Many of them Greek.

Liza Meli: “The flaming cheese, it’s a Greek cheese and it’s flamed at the table. Delicious with any wine.”

Barmeli is also a boutique wine shop and wine lovers can indulge in a weekly tasting for $25.

Liza Meli: “It’s every Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. We showcase four different wines, two whites, two reds from the Mediterranean region.”

Belkys Nerey: “You know, these aren’t your typical Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Chianti. No, these wines are made with grapes you’ve never heard of, each week is something totally different!”

Liza Meli: “I’m really trying to go out there and find little obscure Mediterranean places with small family owned vineyards.”

Liza Meli: “This is a Prensal, a white grape from Mallorca.

Belkys Nerey: “It’s a little dry.”

Liza Meli: “It’s a little dry, as is the island.”

David Bernard: “The wines that you have here are no where to be found. I’ve never heard of any of these wines and it’s a great discovery.”

Some weeks you’ll even get to mix and mingle with the winemakers.

Amelia Garrido: “I’m from Rioja, my family owns the winery. It’s not only the wine, I’m presenting part of my family and my heart.”

Along with the wine, you’ll nosh on complimentary tapas.

Michele Batista: “The wine selection just pairs so well with this food.”

And don’t expect stingy pours at this tasting.

Liza Meli: “No rules in Barmeli. At Barmeli, it flows. It flows until you say no.”

I don’t know about you, but I’ve never liked the word No. Cheers, I’m Belkys Nerey. 7News.

For ladies who love bubbles, Barmeli also has a complimentary Prosecco night on Wednesdays and a daily happy hour from 5-7 p.m.
