WSVN — First-time parents have a lot to look forward to with a new baby, but getting ready for that new bundle of joy takes a lot of work, too. Our makeover maestro is stepping in to get the nursery done. Will Martin get it done in time? Find out in tonight’s Room for Improvement.
Martin Amado: "Hey, guys! It’s another room makeover on today’s Room for Improvement, and can you guess what space we’re doing today? A nursery! I love working on nurseries, especially for first-time moms, so let’s go meet Erica."
Martin Amado: "OK, Erica, so this is your first baby! And it’s going to be…"
Erica: "A girl!"
Martin Amado: "A girl! And when are you due?"
Erica: "March 22nd."
Martin Amado: "Wow, so that’s basically around the corner."
Erica: "I really like the mint and the coral, but it’s been really hard to kinda find some pieces that fit in with the coral and the mint. So, we sorta need help."
Martin Amado: "Let me get to work and we’ll surprise you and your husband at the end."
Erica: "Sounds good!"
Martin Amado: "Awesome! Yay!"
Martin Amado: "All right, so we already have beautiful baby furniture to work with, but as you can see, it does not complete the nursery. First up, let’s address the windows, because the baby needs to sleep."
Martin Amado: "Now, let’s work on the room’s furniture distribution. At the moment, everything’s cramped into one corner. Let’s come up with a better design."
Martin Amado: "So, this is my center artwork, and then I’m adding a different collage around it as well with other prints."
Martin Amado: "Perfect! These beautiful watercolor prints were the inspiration for the color scheme in Jalen’s nursery. Good choice!"
Martin Amado: "I love this memory wall. It tells the story of their life together as a couple, from their wedding to their baby shower, and the next chapter is Jalen’s arrival."
Martin Amado: "Now, I have a very special person to help me dress up the crib, and that’s Jalen’s grandma, Jemma! Hey, how are you? This is your first grandchild, right?"
Jemma: "Yes, it is."
Martin Amado: "How exciting is that? So, are you going to help me?"
Jemma: "Yes!"
Martin Amado: "All right, so let’s start with the duster first."
Martin Amado: "And the final touch is the area rug."
Martin Amado: "One, two, three!"
Erica: "Wow! Ahhh! I love it!"
Martin Amado: "So, you guys like it?"
Erica: "I love it!"
Martin Amado: "You guys are ready? Ready to be a mom and a dad? It’s going to change your life forever!"
Martin Amado: "Thank you so much for letting us do this for you guys! Congratulations to you both!"
