WEST MIAMI, Fla. (WSVN) — Three men who allegedly broke into a car in Florida City and led police on a chase were arrested after the pursuit ended in a crash in West Miami, Thursday afternoon.

According to Florida City Police, the subjects broke into a car at the Best Buy, located at 33590 South Dixie Highway. When they were confronted by the owners of the car, investigators said, the trio got into their 2016 Dodge Charger and struck both of them before fleeing the scene.

A male victim was airlifted to Kendall Regional Medical Center as a result of his injuries.

Investigators said the subjects led police on a chase across Miami-Dade County that ended when they crashed into a tree in West Miami, about 25 miles away from the Best Buy. The men then attempted to flee on foot but were apprehended with the help of several Miami-Dade law enforcement agencies.

Crime scene investigators found additional evidence inside the getaway vehicle that linked the suspects to a previous vehicle burglary. Police believe the men are part of a burglary ring that has been targeting tourist areas across Miami-Dade County, and they said all three have criminal records involving car burglaries.
