POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Federal authorities say 29 people have been indicted on various gun and drug charges in South Florida.

A U.S. Attorney’s Office news release announced on Wednesday that charges have been filed against 29 defendants in 23 separate cases for their participation in criminal conduct.

During the course of the multi-agency law enforcement operation, the release says the defendants sold a total of 285 firearms to undercover officers, including AR-15s, AKs, pistols, revolvers, a short barrel rifle and a police sniper rifle. Defendants are also accused of selling heroin, flakka, cocaine, oxycodone and marijuana to undercover officers.

The operation was centered in Pompano Beach and involved the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Broward Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force.
