Kevin James gets his fight on in “The True Memoirs of an International Assassin,” but he doesn’t do it all on his own.
Actress Zulay Henao is best known as Esperanza on Tyler Perry’s “If Loving You Is Wrong.” But now she’s kicking butt as Rosa, a DEA agent on a mission to bring people to justice.
Zulay gave us the deets on her character when we talked to her at East Miami.
Zulay Henao: “She’s a DEA agent. She’s tough, she’s got a lot of character, a lot of virtue. She’s just kind of like a dream. It’s just kind of a dream role for any woman.”
And it helps that Henao sees a lot of herself in Rosa.
Zulay Henao: “She’s dedicated — her life — and kind of sacrificed a lot of other things to fulfill her dreams and her passion for a better country.”
And getting paid to work with Kevin James? A dream.
Zulay Henao: “He’s just such a great comedian. I loved the opportunity to learn watching him, and also he’s just such a great human being. He’s funny, he’s kind, he’s down to earth. So it was, again, on all fronts just a plus to get to work with him.”
“The True Memoirs of an International Assassin” hits Netflix Nov. 11.
