Speaking of Cookie, the entire Lyon family is back in action tonight, and she may be making the wrong impression on her boyfriend’s mother. Plus, she’s spilling some secrets — real life secrets, with Ryan Reynolds. The two sat down for a segment for Variety Magazine.
Taraji P. Henson (as Cookie Lyon): “So you gonna show up for me tomorrow and help me get my man’s mom in line?”
Cookie isn’t the only momma bear on tonight’s episode of “Empire.”
Phylicia Rashad (as Diana Dubois): “So where is Cookie Lyon?”
The Lyon family matriarch is set to meet her beau’s mother, played by the legendary Phylicia Rashad.
Phylicia Rashad (as Diana Dubois): “This will never do child.”
Family secrets will also be revealed — which she’s also doing in real life.
Taraji P. Henson and Ryan Reynolds are leaving it all out there for Variety Magazine’s “Actors on Actors” segment.
Ryan Reynolds: “I don’t tweet stuff about my life.”
Taraji P. Henson: “I don’t either. I don’t go, ‘Hey this is me walking into the round.'”
Ryan Reynolds: “‘Here’s me in my colonoscopy. I’m gonna be knocked out in a minute.'”
The stars dished on social media and their privacy … or lack there of.
Ryan Reynolds: “How does it affect your social life?”
Taraji P. Henson: “Because you’re walking down the street and it’s like, ‘Hey Cookie!’ and you know, maybe I didn’t want the world to see how I looked today.”
Ryan Reynolds: “That is the price of an iconic character that you play.”
Taraji P. Henson: “See, it was fine until Cookie came. I was OK, under the radar. I was good. I could go to Target.”
Ryan Reynolds: “But Cookie is viral. Cookie is everywhere.”
And shared some scandalous news.
Taraji P. Henson: “My last audition, I guess, would have been for ‘Benjamin Button.'”
Ryan Reynolds: “Oh, and that ended badly.”
Taraji P. Henson: “No, I think after that, I auditioned for Shonda Rimes for ‘Scandal.’ Thank God Kerry got it, it was her job.”
Ryan Reynolds: “I’m auditioning right now. I’m gonna be on “Empire” this season.”
Taraji P. Henson: “Yes, please.”
