“Now You See Me 2” is one of many films hitting theaters this weekend. The others include wizards, a love triangle and Puerto Ricans in Paris! Here’s this week’s “Showtime.”
Ben Schnetzer (as Khadgar): “Saving the world is not a one-man job.”
That’s right. It also takes orcs and wizards! “Warcraft” brings the video game “World of Warcraft” to the big screen.
And leaders of the clans start to wonder if war is the answer. Definitely look for this to slay giants around Oscar time!
Greta Gerwig (as Maggie): “It’s a marriage that fell apart, and now he’s trapped in it.”
We get a new take on the old love triangle in “Maggie’s Plan.” A woman falls in love with a married man, then devises a strategy to reunite him with his former wife, played by Julianne Moore.
And she told Deco it’s all about location, location, location.
Julianne Moore: “It’s a Danish accent. We wanted the character to be Scandinavian, and we ended up settling on Denmark ‘cause it’s not too far north and we didn’t want it to be too dramatic, and we thought that would be fun.”
In “Puerto Ricans in Paris,” Luis Guzmán and Edgar Garcia are detectives with a specialty for tracking down counterfeit handbags. When a rare bag disappears in Paris, they’re put on the case. The movie’s executive producer is Mr. 305 himself, Pitbull.
Luis Guzmán: “And he called up and said, ‘Hey, guys, how can I help?’ And that’s pretty much how it started, and he said, ‘I’d love to come on board,’ and he did one of the songs.”
