Raw food. I know what you’re thinking. Ewwwwww! Weird! Gross! No way! I know, me too, until I tried Plant Food + Wine. This new plant based, vegan place in Miami’s Wynwood section made me a raw food believer.

Raw food guru Chef Matthew Kenney is the man behind the food magic here. Everything I tasted I loved. The sunflower caesar salad ($14) is so good it’s hard to believe there’s no dairy. The zucchini lasagna ($21) is flawless. The texture of the macadamia nut ricotta is so perfect you can’t imagine it’s not actual ricotta cheese. And the traditional Italian cacio e pepe ($17) made with kelp noodles instead of pasta just blows your mind. Everything is raw, plant based and vegan and, “yes, way!” I enjoyed every last bite. The best part, they serve cocktails based on seasonal ingredients of course, and they offer an extensive list of organic and biodynamic wines and sake so you can still booze it up during your meal (Designated Driver not included!)

The dining room is gorgeous and the patio located under palm trees and a surrounding reflecting pool puts you right in the zen zone. Plant Food + Wine is on the grounds of The Sacred Space, a personal growth and transformation center in Wynwood. Believe me when I tell you you’ll be transformed and you’ll never look at raw food the same way again.
