Blue Arauz: “For the entire month of July, we’re doing Order the Yelp. We have a bunch of restaurants that have created a brand new dish to the menu. It’s inspired by Yelp and named after Yelp and they’re available for 50 percent off when you check in on your Yelp app.”
When Yelp came calling, lots of eateries in Fort Lauderdale lined up for the chance to show diners what they could do…
Blue Arauz: “Some of the restaurants just got really creative and created these brand new menu items.”

Jeff Vincent: “So the Funky Yelper is a deep-fried, waffle-battered chicken skewer.”
You heard the man correctly — it’s like chicken and waffles on a stick.
Jeff Vincent: “We make a beautiful batter with cinnamon and vanilla, and then we dip fresh chicken skewers down into the batter, deep fry them till they’re nice and crispy and serve that with a jalapeno-infused maple syrup.”
Yelpers give the dish and the brewery a big thumb’s up.
Tyler Piontkowski: “The food is delicious. The beer’s delicious. The atmosphere at Funky Buddha is amazing.”
Next up was Flash Fire Pizza, where a traditional Italian comfort food gets a brand new seasonal look…
Robby Day: “So the dish that we’re doing with Yelp for the summer is called the Yelp Pizza. It’s a nice light summer salad pizza.”
You’re ordering pizza and a salad — and getting both in one bite…
Robby Day: “So we cook the dough with the sauce on top. Get that nice and crusty then we bring it out and put the salad element on top.”
And, there’s a special cupcake calling your name at Parlour Vegan Bakery…
Rosario: “We have a Sunday Yelper cupcake. It’s a vanilla cupcake with a strawberry filling.”
The outside of this little beauty is as tasty as the inside. It’s topped with vanilla frosting, chocolate drizzle and roasted nuts…
Customer: “It’s really good. It’s really sweet it’s different.”
