New menu at Hard Rock Stadium

One of the best parts about game day: The food! And that’s especially true for Fins fans who are getting a lot of tasty new choices this season. Deco’s chief-Fin-food correspondent Chris Van Vliet is live with a taste.

The new food menu is set to make the state-of-the-art stadium a complete showcase, and a hall of fame coach is even adding his name to the list at the Hard Rock Stadium.

As the Dolphins get ready to play their very first game inside the newly minted stadium on Sunday, Dolphins fans can get ready to dig into some new food options.

Tom Garfinkel, Miami Dolphins President and CEO: “One of the things we wanted to do was provide more than just hot dogs and chicken tenders in the stadium.”

The decision all came down to the fans.

Tom Garfinkel: “We talked to fans and on Twitter. It’s kind of a living focus group. I sent out, ‘What food do you want to see in the stadium?’ or ‘What music do you wanna hear?’ and we pay attention to the responses that we get back.

Hard Rock Stadium is welcoming restaurants Grown and Shula Burger, which are two familiar faces in South Florida.

Don Shula is one of the most legendary Dolphins coaches, so it only made sense to incorporate Shula Burger.

Dave Shula, with Shula Burger: “It’s kind of a no-brainer, right? You know, it’s one of those things where you walk in and you go, ‘Shula Burger and Hard Rock Stadium, why didn’t I see it here before?'”

Shula Burger will have five locations throughout the stadium. Shula told Deco what will be on the menu.

Dave Shula: “Shula burgers to start. We have our original Shula burger. We have our barbecue burger, also. We have our sea salt fries, our sweet potato tots and our fried pickles.”

If you’re worried about your diet, Grown, from former Miami Heat star Ray Allen and his wife Shannon Williams, have just the thing for you.

Ray Allen: “We’re not fancy. We’re not doing anything over the top, but we’re providing people with food that they know they will eat on a regular basis.”

Grown is the first ever fully organic restaurant in an American stadium.

Shannon Williams: “We start with the very best ingredients the food market has to offer. We start with only USDA organic certified products, and most of them are local, here in South Florida.”

They offer healthy choices like salad with rotisserie chicken, grass-fed barbecue brisket with sweet potato mash and Mexican corn, and Allen’s favorite dish, wild-caught salmon with quinoa and broccoli.

Football attendees can try any of these options at the Dolphin’s home opener on Sunday, at 1 p.m., when they take on the Browns. Limited tickets are still available.
