Miami Spice

It's the most wonderful time of the year!!!!! No, silly, not Christmas. It's Miami Spice time. That period during summer when some of South Florida's best restaurants slash their prices so mere mortals can indulge in culinary delights yet still afford to pay their rent after they pay their bill.

During August 1st until September 30th participating restaurants offer three-course dinners for just $39. Take Fontainebleau faves Scarpetta and Hakkasan for example. You can choose from some of their signature dishes like creamy polenta and my ABSOLUTE favorite the Scarpetta spaghetti. Hakkasan's spicy chicken fried rice and crispy duck salad are on the dinner menu and they're also offering a Dim Sum lunch on the weekends for $23. Celebrity chefs Scott Conant and Michael Mina are also getting in on the the Miami Spice deal. Conant's Corsair is featuring Squid Ink Farfalle (pastas are his thing) on the spice menu among other tasty options. And Mina's Bourbon Steak has a BBQ glazed Angus Ribeye carnivores will surely enjoy. Wanna dine with a view of the 305? 15th & Vine Kitchen and Bar at Viceroy Miami has created and extensive Spice menu with 15 dishes to choose from.

So come on, you've been stuck here all summer, you've earned the right to live a little. Try some of South Florida's finest food for 39 bucks for dinner or 23 bucks for lunch (plus tax and tip). Hey, it's not Christmas but that's around the corner so get your Miami Spice on before time runs out and remember, you'll still need a reservation.
