Nothing makes a party like tacos and margaritas. And you’ll be able to get your fill this weekend. The first annual Margarita Fest is taking place in Fort Lauderdale. Deco got an ice cold preview.

The tacos are hot and the margaritas are ice cold at Tacocraft in Fort Lauderdale. Now the restaurant is taking over the street, and the margaritas will be flowing.

Vincent Buemi: “Margarita Festival, it’s a fantastic event, it’s our first annual. It is over 20 different tequila companies bringing out the best that they have. They’re gonna be bringing out their best and their margarita specials.”

The event will take over Second Street in Downtown Lauderdale.

Music will be provided by local reggae act Bushwood.

You can sample shots of premium tequilas like Avión and Maestro Dobel, or have it in a margarita.

Vincent Buemi: “Who doesn’t love a good margarita? Refreshing, the lime, the flavors.”

Have it traditional or mix it up with strawberry, basil and cherry.

Like it hot? Try the cucumber jalapeño margarita.

Bartender: “Today I’m gonna make you an Avión cucumber jalapeño margarita. We’re gonna start with muddling one jalapeño and two cucumbers. Next we’re gonna add 3/4 of agave and an ounce of lime juice. And 2 ounces of Avión tequila.”

Add ice — and shake it up!

Bartender: “Then just strain it over the ice. And that is an Avión cucumber jalapeño margarita.”

Customer 1: “Food’s amazing. We come here often, and the margaritas are to die for.”

Customer 2: “It’s delicious. I like the chunks of strawberry inside.”

Online tickets for the Margarita Fest are sold out, but a limited number will be available at the event.

Vincent Buemi: “The experience, we hope everyone has a great time on the street. With all the tents, all the excitement, we have we have the DJ band.”
