MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - “Another one!” as DJ Khaled would say. DJ Khaled has been granted another key in Miami-Dade County. This time it’s a key to the city of Miami Beach.

Miami’s-own DJ Khaled, along with other major musical artists, arrived to South Beach, Thursday, and they’re ready to revolt at one of the biggest music events in South Florida, The Revolt Music Conference.

The conference kicked off, Thursday, at the Eden Roc Miami Beach Hotel. Besides Khaled’s “major key” moment presented to him by the Mayor of Miami Beach, Philip Levine, Oct. 13 was also officially named “Sean Diddy Combs Day” by the mayor.

“I love Miami,” said Khaled at Eden Roc. “To get a key to the city — Miami Beach — You know, I already have a key to Miami, so it’s just more keys! Each key leads to the next key.”

The music conference is in its third year and is the brainchild of Sean Diddy Combs, who is the chairman and founder of Revolt TV. When asked what he thought the conference would turn out to be, Combs said he didn’t expect anything more than what it has become.

“I was really hoping it would be this,” he said. “I was hoping that it would be a platform for new, young and up-and-coming artists and executives and creatives.”

Some of the musicians who took to the stage and performed, included new artist Kent Jones. “This is where the culture is at,” said Jones. “Shout-out to the OG Diddy. This is something that he’s laid down so this generation can be apart of the culture.”

Combs had advice for some of the younger music industry hopefuls before the kick-off night came to a close. “I would say that you have to put accountability on yourself. No excuses.”

The Revolt Music Conference takes place at the Eden Roc Miami Beach Hotel through the weekend.
