(WSVN) - An assassin for hire and a damsel in distress who may be more than she seems. That’s the premise of Jason Statham’s new action flick “Mechanic: Resurrection.” It’s Statham doing Statham-y things, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Jason Statham (as Arthur Bishop in “The Mechanic”): “I do assignments, designated targets. Some jobs need to look like accidents.”

The 2011 movie “The Mechanic” just got a sequel. And it’s action-packed.

Assassin Arthur Bishop — aka Jason Statham — is back in “Mechanic: Resurrection.”

Jason Statham: “You know I played the mechanic before, Arthur Bishop. I had a good experience doing that, and it’s always good to get into the same shoes.”

In this film, an enemy kidnaps Bishop’s love, played by Jessica Alba.

Jessica Alba: “She’s a social worker, and she sorta gets blackmailed in having to get thrown into this world.”

To free her, Bishop needs to pull off three seemingly impossible hits.

Michelle Yeoh (as Mei): “Each death must look like an accident.”

So Statham does what he does best: Kick. Some. Butt.

Jason Statham: “It’s something I enjoy doing, and if you’re having a good time while you’re making these things, then you tend to do good work.”

And good work is exactly what he does, all throughout the movie. I mean, look at him go!

Jessica’s no damsel in distress, either. Her rough role left her black and blue.

Jessica Alba: “Yeah, yeah, of course you get bruises. When you do hand-to-hand combat, especially.”

But this girl isn’t afraid of anything.

Jessica Alba: “I mean, it’s no big deal. I’m tough; I can handle a couple of bruises and cuts. It’s not that big of a deal.”

As for working side by side with one of action’s greatest stars…

Jessica Alba: “He’s so great. He’s a really sweet person. He is a very committed actor, and he’s really easy to be around.”

Something tells us Alba wasn’t too difficult to work with, either.

Jason Statham: “You know, she’s a sweetheart. And she’s the perfect girl for this movie, because she’s drop dead gorgeous, and to try and get her out of a sticky situation is an easy task for me.”

“Mechanic: Resurrection” hits theaters Aug. 26.
