I believe it was the great philosopher Snooki who asked, “You know what goes great with beer? Yeah, more beer!” Naturally, Snooki is correct. But beer happens to get along quite well with many foods. They just need your help getting together.

Cheers, salud, l’chaim. Doesn’t matter how you say it — it’s time to raise a glass to beer. This is American Craft Beer Week, and the Loews Miami Beach is celebrating.

Linda Villafane: “American Craft Beer Week is a celebration of all things beer, of all things craft brewing. The craft brewing is huge, and it warrants a big celebration.”

The Loews Miami Beach’s signature restaurant, Preston’s Market, has teamed up with Samuel Adams Beer Company for a beer pairing dinner.

Linda Villafane: “The beer pairing dinner is Thursday, May 19, at 7 p.m. It’s $55 per person.”

It’s four courses with four beers, and one awesome night.

Linda Villafane: “The beers that we are showcasing with our meal are beers that are unique.”

From start to finish, each course is paired with a different beer.

Linda Villafane: “It’s the same thing as doing a wine tasting at a winery. These beers, they all pair well with your food, and it will take you through a journey with your whole meal.”

And the brews are just as good in the food, as they are with it.

Linda Villafane: “It’s not only pairing each course with the beer. We are also cooking with the beer.”

Start the night with pan seared scallop salad paired with Sam Adams Porch Rocker.

Linda Villafane: “The Porch Rocker pairs perfectly with seafood because it has a tart, sparkling lemon taste.”

Then move on to celery root fondue with lamb meatballs that are made and paired with Sam Adams Rebel Grapefruit IPA.

Linda Villafane: “Again, citrusy. We are going from a lemon to a tart grapefruit taste.”

The third course is chipotle marinated pork shoulder. They are putting classic Sam Adams lager in the marinade and in your glass.

Linda Villafane: “It has a lot of complex hops and a slightly sweet roast malts and a very smooth finish that will compliment the spiciness of the pork.”

Finish off the night with a semi-sweet classic tort — and Sam Adams Thirteenth Hour stout.

Linda Villafane: “This is a hardy beer. It tastes like roasted chocolate and coffee flavors and a rich stout taste that will finish off your meal perfectly.”

After all this good food, you are going to wish that American Craft Beer Week was really American Craft Beer Month. Cheers!

There are a limited number of seats for the beer pairing dinner, and valet for the event is reduced to $15.
