(WSVN) - Military chic is always in, but this season anything camouflage is a must-have. Especially camo jackets! Tonight, Josie Bruno Vintage is sharing its one-of-a-kind camo creations. It’s one of Shireen’s favorite things.

There’s nothing like a man in uniform, especially when it comes to camo. But you don’t have to be a petty officer or a private to appreciate the trend.

For the past few years, military chic has been on the front line of fashion. But this winter, it’s camouflage that’s come out of hiding.

Especially camo jackets.

Shireen Sandoval: “That is all kinds of fabulousness right there.”

And, no one does it better than Josie Bruno Vintage in Surfside.

Patti Bruno Rivero, Josie Bruno Vintage: “The easiest look is to roll the sleeves up cuff twice, push and you’re out.”

We caught up with designer Patti Bruno Rivero at her workshop…

Patti Bruno Rivero: “I travel a lot and collect them.”

To see her one-of-a-kind camo creations.

Patti Bruno Rivero: “The bulk of my business has turned to special order or bespoke jackets.”

Patti uses real retired camo, and then…

Patti Bruno Rivero: “I start with some basic patches, so you can pull a color story or a theme, but then I layer on broaches, pins, any artifact that you have. People have come to me with little bags of jewelry, from when they were younger, or their mother’s broaches.”

She’ll even use a vision board to capture a client’s personality.

Patti Bruno Rivero: “And then I’ll modify it. You approve it, and then the jacket arrives.”

Everything is hand-sewn and no two jackets are alike.

Patti Bruno Rivero: “I’ve already started pinning, that’s great. She loved the snake and wanted me to embellish everything with red flowers to make it a little softer for her.”

For the blog, I tried three jackets, three different ways:

Sassy for work with a puffy skirt.

Casual with my own military style pants.

And chic for a night out on the town.

Patti Bruno Rivero: “If you have anything at home, any broaches, just add them. A lot of the women I deal with have drawers full of fun things. Chanel does amazing broaches, throw them all on. Not one, all. So, more is more. More is more.”

Especially when it comes to vintage camo. And that’s why it’s one of my favorite things.
