Forget Jason from “Friday the 13th” or Freddie Krugers’s Elm Street-based nightmares. The Halloween movie genre is getting much scarier thanks to Madea. Deco’s favorite “boo” Chris Van Vliet is live in Sunset for her SoFlo premiere.

Tyler Perry is known as a lot of things. He’s a writer, a producer, a director, one of Oprah’s BFFs, but one of the roles he’s best known for is the role of Madea. He’s done a lot of Madea films including a Christmas one, but now he has a Halloween movie…

Tyler Perry (as Madea): “All my life I had to fight.”

Tyler Perry is back as Madea –in his ninth movie as the lovable character.

Tyler Perry: “Everybody loves Madea because Madea — she’s not politically correct, she’s not the smartest cake in the box, but she definitely has a lot of wisdom and she tells it like it is.”

Tyler Perry (as Madea): “Let something jump up out of this damn box. (Someone jumps out of the box and Madea punches them.) You got knocked the hell out.”

Over the course of nine movies, Madea has covered a lot of ground. In this one called, “Boo! A Madea Halloween,” Madea fights off killers, ghosts and zombies while attempting to look after some out of control teens on Halloween night.

Tyler Perry: “It’s not far fetched. It’s not Sci-Fi. It’s not way out there. It’s just a good little twist to the plot that you go ‘Wow, this is really a good idea.'”

Not only is it a good idea, it’s funny, just ask Tyler Perry!

Tyler Perry: “I watch it still and I’m laughing. I forget some of the things that I did until I see it in the film and I go, ‘Woah that is funny.'”

Tyler Perry (as Madea): “Happy Halloween.”

“Boo! A Madea Halloween” is in theaters Oct. 21.

Chris has been thinking a lot about his Halloween costume and after seeing the movie, he was thinking dressing up as Chris Van Madea. What do you think?
