Beyoncé turned 35 on Sunday and Monday night, she threw a funk-tastic birthday party in New York City. The guest list was just as insane as the party itself — although somehow, we didn’t get invited. Chris Van Vliet has the deets.
Beyoncé did it big for her 35th birthday, inviting her friends and family to a birthday party at the Nomad Hotel in New York City — but not just any birthday party, a “Soul Train” themed birthday party.
To get in, the A-list partygoers had to dress up in 70s inspired costumes –like Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz here. How about Kelly Rowland channeling her inner Donna Summers? Usher posted this pic on Instagram of him and Jay-Z looking funky. Puff Daddy rocked quite the wig and he was feeling it on Snapchat.
Diddy: “I should have took some pictures before the night started.”
Janelle Monae showed off her best dance moves.
And not only was Chance the Rapper there, he serenaded her at his concert over the weekend.
Chance The Rapper: “‘Yonce it’s your birthday. Happy birthday Yonce.”
The Queen Bey hit the dance floor with her husband, Jay Z.
The moment that got the biggest reaction was when their daughter Blue Ivy grabbed the mic.
Blue Ivy: “Happy birthday mommy!”
Crowds: “Aww.”
For Beyoncé’s 36th birthday next year, I feel like this party might be a tough one to top.
